Title:LabyrinthGenre:Strategy
Developer:Daniel BoswellYear:1995
Description:A solid Labyrinth game featuring two colored doors/keys, water, planks, trapdoors, switches, and more. The graphics are very simple, but the game features very nice real-time mini-map, as well as a window showing the close surrounding. The lack of better presentation, more labyrinths (only 2), and some bugs lower the quality of this highly potential labyrinth game.

Title:Lala PrologueGenre:Adventure
Developer:Na Than Assh Antti (na_th_an)Year:2002
Description:A very nice mini-minigame that combines platform and adventure genre. Lala is a wizard apprentice who lives in the forest and has to go every day to her master's house. This game only features two levels and few puzzles, but the graphics and the game engine are excellent. Worth being checked.

Title:Land of Illusions Full Demo ReleaseGenre:RPG
Developer:Skywaffle ProductionsYear:1998
Description:A demo of an above average RPG. The graphics are nice or better and the gameplay is very good. The biggest plus of this game is the technical perfection of the engine so everything runs smooth and battles are very enjoyable to play. Tile by tile movement and turn-based battle system. The game is rather linear and not too difficult, but it’s quite long for a demo. Recommended.

Title:LanderGenre:Action
Developer:MallardYear:1995
Description:An interesting variation on the "lander" concept, but poorly coded. You need to land your ship on the planet while avoiding other planets(?!) and comets. After you land you need to walk to the designated area, plant the flag and get back. The game features 5 levels. The problem is in the technical imperfection of the game which makes it very difficult to play (stupid acceleration curve).

Title:Larry The DinosaurGenre:Platform
Developer:Delta CodeYear:2000
Description:Not really a platform game, but almost like it. The player is always on one level and needs to jump over obstacles and kill monsters while traveling from one screen to the next. Relatively interesting and addictive game, but sadly too technically imperfect (uneven quality of the graphics, flickering and bugs).

Title:Larry The Dinosaur 2Genre:Platform
Developer:Delta CodeYear:2002
Description:An excellent platform/adventure game. Great and professoinally done graphics and great gameplay. Switch between weapons, pick up objects, use them, mix them, talk to characters, kill enemies. A tad too short game, but still great.

Title:Legend of Lith 2 Demo ver.1.0Genre:RPG
Developer:DarkDreadYear:1996
Description:First person perspective RPG like Eye Of The Beholder or Bard's Tale (a mock-3D game). A rarity in QBasic RPG genre. This is a demo featuring not my favorite type of gameplay, but it's nicely designed. This version has few bugs.

Title:Lethal Dimension IIGenre:RPG
Developer:Anima GamesYear:2005
Description:An absolutely horrible RPG with a shallow story, terrible game world and terrible code/design. The game is playable and it’s visible that some effort was put into the development (though wasted), so I'm giving this game 1. This RPG doesn't come with a save game option though it needs one.

Title:Lexter 1Genre:Puzzle
Developer:Mike SnyderYear:1993
Description:A very nice puzzle game with ok graphics and tile by tile movement. The gameplay is based on reaching the level exit in set number of moves. The game is quite challenging and fun to play, but since this is one of the most earliest QBasic games it can't be compared in technical perfection, graphics and sound support (only PC Speaker sounds included) with better QBasic games released after 1997. Still, both Lexter 1 and 2 are very professionally coded and designed games and are a forgotten part of the QBasic game design history. Recommended for collectors.

Title:Lexter 2Genre:Puzzle
Developer:Mike SnyderYear:1993
Description:A sequel to Lexter bringing the same gameplay in somewhat better packing, featuring larger number of levels, world map and new objects Lexter can use to solve the puzzles. Very challenging game. The quality of the graphics is not improved.

Title:Lianne in... The Dark Crown Genre:RPG
Developer:DarkDreadYear:1997
Description:An average RPG with nicely shaded sprites/tiles, but badly composed on some places. Tile by tile movement. A bit weird design. I don't know. I didn't play the game long enough to get the full impression. Quite nice presentation and menus.

Title:LinealityGenre:Action
Developer:Hamster Republic ProductionsYear:1997
Description:A really strange action game where you are a dot and battle another dots (shoot at them) on a playfield consisted of a line. Cool sound effects and ok gameplay. Still, the game doesn't feature any kind of score or progress (as far as I know) so it seems unfinished to me. Also, the save game feature is defunct though I'm wondering why would it need one.

Title:Link 5Genre:Puzzle
Developer:Murat ElicYear:2003
Description:A variation on the classic link [insert number] concept. This game features nice and calming graphics, but you can play it only against a computer opponent (who is not that good) and the overall design could use more touches. In Link 5 you need to connect 5 identical symbols (horizontally, vertically or diagonally) which you place on the board and you can also collect points which are randomized on the board with every new game.

Title:Little Pixy 2, TheGenre:Platform
Developer:TMBYear:2000
Description:A very nice platform game where you play one of the Santa’s little pixies and have to collect all the toys in the level and put them in the Santa’s sack. The gameplay is a bit repetitive (9 levels), but addictive and challenging. The graphics are very good (if not excellent) and the game also features Sound Blaster sound effects and music (a bit too chirpy).

Title:LogicMind 3Genre:Puzzle
Developer:Xplosion softwareYear:1997
Description:An average Mastermind game featuring cool speech messages. Ok graphics and average coding. No scoring is implemented, like time-based or any other. Two players mode is implemented, but the role of the first player is only to set the secret combination for the second player. Also, the rules are slightly changed from the classic ones. You can input 8 differently colored coins, but two same coins can't be in one combination.

Title:Lost 2 ver.1.1 DemoGenre:Adventure
Developer:Groovy Concepts LTDYear:1999
Description:Interesting demo of an adventure game. Most of the game is composed with ASCII characters, but some parts of the game, like cutscenes, are not which makes the game's graphical design a bit unbalanced. The designer should have stick with the ASCII (text-based) graphics. The gameplay is quite good. The characters are funny, but not realistic. It all feels too much like a joke. Due the shortness of the demo and unbalanced quality of the graphics, I can't give this demo much more. Still, the designer shows a lot of potential.

Title:Love Story, TheGenre:RPG
Developer:Murat ElicYear:2003
Description:Absolutely horrible RPG made in less that one day. Monsters attack you even if you don't move and constantly, which makes going anywhere impossible. Also, the designer doesn't know English well so the dialogues are kinda amusing. "I escaped Jenny!". Heh. Avoid.
