Title:AbsorbGenre:Action
Developer:Digital Chaos Year:2003
Description:Black and white (monochrome) collector game where you control a beam and with it collect designated objects inside a specific level. The gameplay is ok and somewhat addictive, but the game is very short and the graphics are rather subpar. Objects in the levels are randomized every time you play a new game so the replay value is not that bad. Also, the package includes a level editor. Overall, not enough content for a higher score.

Title:Ahib el Mushman - The Oil AdventureGenre:Action
Developer:Pc72Year:2002
Description:A nice hi-res (640*350) game featuring oil collecting. The game objective is to collect all the oil inside a specific level. There is a lot of bonus items you can pick up and an enemy you need to avoid. You can kill that enemy and destroy certain obstacles with a pickaxe you carry. The graphics are in hi-res mode and very nicely done, especially the animations of the characters. On the other hand, levels don't feature any background, only tiles, oil, bonus items and characters. The biggest problem of The Oil Adventure is the gameplay. It's highly doubtful since each level is randomized every time you play it. This includes the number of oil drops you need to pick up, time limit and obstacles, so sometimes it’s simply impossible to finish a certain level. Also, when you finish a level you need to exit it through a door that only appears for a second. You need to be very careful (and lucky) in that moment so you wouldn’t miss the exit location. Not sure if this is a bug. The package includes a level editor.

This demo features only 10 missions and the gameplay feels too fast-paced for my taste. Perhaps the game is meant to be played on slower speed. This demo doesn't feature any music or sound effects. Description:An average action/puzzle game. The player controls some kind of vehicle and must escape the alien prison he is in. The player needs to avoid/destroy enemies and turn switches in order to finish a level. The graphics are mediocre. Black background. Tiles and sprites are well shaded, but the graphics are composed quite badly (incoherent and weird tiles). Your vehicle moves too slow for the game to be enjoyed properly and the level design is boring. Many levels and nice menus and presentation. The package includes a level editor. Description:Sequel to PONG: Battle Royal featuring better graphics, tournament mode, ship (paddle) modification (ability to modify/buy new weapons, shields and engines), better options (option of choosing points to win and kills to win) and slightly better gameplay. Still, the gameplay is not that good. Enemy AI is almost perfect so the only way to beat the opponent is to hope for the flaw/bug in the AI to happen (I’ve noticed it and it happens really rarely) or to kill the opponent which takes a lot of time and is annoying and frustrating. Killing the first opponent was a drag. I can’t image the next opponents. Having in mind the improvements and some nice graphic effects I'm giving Pong II this generous score, but don't forget the doubtful gameplay. You have been warned. All you need to do in Q-MANCHE is to hunt down the three persons on the map and kill them. They are nothing but slug looking lines. While this is a painfully easy game, it's also terribly short. Hi-res graphics (640*480). Controlling the space craft is very easy and enjoyable and it’s done by mouse. Unfortunately this Beta version is not a complete game (I think the designer doesn’t know what Beta stands for) though it can pass for one. The game features nice Sound Blaster sound effects. The blood effects are also cool with blood being spilled of the playfield and accumulating on the bottom of the screen. If the blood reaches the playfield, the player gets a blood bonus.
